Security cameras can be useful and, with advances in technology, are more versatile than ever. However, nothing on the market can quite measure up to human instinct and this was evident in mid-July when a Matrix Security patrol officer interrupted a crime.
It was midnight when the officer arrived at a customer’s business in Penrose to perform routine patrol checks. He noticed a suspicious vehicle parked nearby and approached it. A man then emerged from a hole cut in the fence of a neighbouring premise and fled in the vehicle. Police were notified and dog handler soon arrived to check the scene. No offenders were apprehended but a number of trucks were found to have been tampered with. A truck battery was recovered near the hole in the fence.
Our patrol officers are trained to observe and act on anything suspicious they see, often preventing crimes or more serious loss through their vigilance and action.
